Alan Anthony Silvestri, born on March 26, 1950, is an American composer, conductor, orchestrator, and music producer known for his work on film scores. He has received two Grammy Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards and has been nominated for two Academy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. Silvestri has been closely associated with director Robert Zemeckis since 1984, composing music for nearly all of Zemeckis's feature films. His collaborations include the Back to the Future film series, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump, Contact, and several other notable titles such as Flight and The Walk.
