Alan Caldwell Hunter, born on February 14, 1957, is an American radio and television host, producer, and actor. He gained recognition as one of the original five video jockeys on MTV from 1981 to 1987, alongside Nina Blackwood, Mark Goodman, J. J. Jackson, and Martha Quinn. Hunter has been a host on SiriusXM Radio, appearing on The 80s on 8 channel and on the Classic Rewind channel. In addition to his broadcasting career, he is the CEO and Founder of the National Renewable Network, and he co-owns Hunter Films with his brother Hugh. He and his brothers also established WorkPlay, a multipurpose office, studio, and entertainment facility located in Birmingham, Alabama. Hunter has hosted television programs including the reality show Looking for Stars on Starz and the Encore series Big 80s Weekend. Throughout his career, he has been involved in various media projects, combining his experience as a TV and radio personality with entrepreneurial ventures in production and entertainment infrastructure.
