Aisha Alfa: podcast appearances and interviews

Aisha Alfa is a Canadian comedian and actress known for her work in television and film. She is recognized for her recurring role as teacher Ms. Grell in the Degrassi franchise and for her appearances as a reporter on the mock newscast series The Beaverton. Born in Nigeria and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Alfa played soccer in her youth before pursuing a career in entertainment. After winning Winnipeg's Funniest Person with a Day Job comedy competition in 2011, she relocated to Toronto to further her career. Alfa has appeared in films such as An American Girl: McKenna Shoots for the Stars, My Awkward Sexual Adventure, and Euphoria. She was a regular panelist on seasons eight and nine of MuchMusic's Video on Trial and participated in CBC's Royal Canadian Air Farce New Year's Eve specials from 2014 to 2016. Her television credits include Opie's Home, Sorry for Your Loss, Coop & Cami Ask the World, and Good Trouble. In 2020, Alfa released her first full-length comedy special titled Aisha Alfa: All the Parts on All Things Comedy. She has received recognition within the comedy community, including a Canadian Comedy Award nomination for Best Breakout Artist in 2015 and a Canadian Screen Award nomination in 2018 for Best Ensemble Performance as part of The Beaverton cast.
