William West Anderson, known professionally as Adam West, was an American actor born on September 19, 1928, and passed away on June 9, 2017. He is best known for portraying Batman in the 1960s ABC television series of the same name and its 1966 theatrical film. West's portrayal of Batman became iconic, and he continued to reprise the role across various media until 2017. His acting career began in the 1950s, with film appearances including Geronimo in 1962, where he starred opposite Chuck Connors, and The Outlaws Is Coming in 1965, alongside The Three Stooges.
