Adam Fredric Duritz, born August 1, 1964, is an American singer and founding member of the rock band Counting Crows. He serves as the band's frontman and main composer. Since the group's formation in 1991, Counting Crows has sold over 20 million records and released seven studio albums that have received gold or platinum certification. The band has also garnered critical recognition, including nominations for two Grammy Awards and one Academy Award. In addition to his work with Counting Crows, Duritz has recorded solo material and collaborated with other musical acts. He founded two record labels, E Pluribus Unum and Tyrannosaurus Records. Duritz has also contributed to film music, earning a BMI award for co-writing the song 'Accidentally in Love' for the movie Shrek 2.
