Aaron James Judge, born on April 26, 1992, is an American professional baseball right fielder with the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball. He has been selected as an All-Star eight times and has won the American League Most Valuable Player Award three times. Judge holds the American League record for most home runs in a season with 62 and is known for his exceptional power hitting. Standing six feet seven inches tall and weighing 282 pounds, he is one of the tallest and largest players in MLB. Judge played college baseball for the Fresno State Bulldogs before being selected by the Yankees with the 32nd overall pick in the first round of the 2013 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2016 and earned the AL Rookie of the Year Award in 2017, receiving unanimous voting. In that year, he led the AL with 52 home runs and became the first rookie to win the Home Run Derby. In 2022, Judge secured his first MVP award after setting an AL single-season home run record, surpassing a 61-year-old mark held by Roger Maris. Following that season, he re-signed with the Yankees on a nine-year, 360 million dollar contract and was named team captain. In 2024, he won his second MVP award by unanimous vote, leading MLB in home runs and OPS, and became the fastest player in MLB history to reach 300 career home runs. During the 2024 postseason, the Yankees won their first AL pennant in 15 years but lost in the World Series. Judge clinched his third MVP and second consecutive award in 2025, also capturing his first batting title and representing the United States at the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
