Aaron Hernandez: podcast appearances and interviews

Aaron Josef Hernandez was an American professional football tight end who played in the National Football League for three seasons with the New England Patriots. He played college football for the Florida Gators, where he was part of the team that won the 2009 BCS National Championship Game and received the John Mackey and Ozzie Newsome awards and first-team All-American honors the following season. Drafted in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL draft due to concerns about his size and off-field incidents, Hernandez formed a notable tight end duo with Rob Gronkowski, becoming the first pair to each score at least five touchdowns in consecutive seasons for the same team. He also appeared in Super Bowl XLVI. In 2013, Hernandez was arrested and charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd, leading to his immediate release from the Patriots. He was convicted in 2015 of first-degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment without parole. During the same period, he was indicted for a double homicide in 2012 but was acquitted in 2017. Hernandez was found dead in his cell five days after the acquittal, with his death ruled a suicide. His conviction was initially vacated following his death but was later reinstated in 2019 after an appeal by prosecutors and Lloyd's family. Posthumously, Hernandez was diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which has generated discussion about its possible influence on his behavior.
