Audience Signal

An audience signal is any measurable data point that indicates the size, engagement, or growth trajectory of a podcast's audience. PitchCentric aggregates five primary audience signals: Spotify followers, YouTube subscribers, YouTube recent views, Apple chart position, and Apple review velocity.

How it works

Audience signals are collected from public APIs and scraping pipelines that run continuously. Each signal type has its own enrichment cadence: Spotify signals refresh every 5 minutes, YouTube data every 6 hours, Apple chart position every 6 hours, and Apple review counts every 2 hours. The signals combine into the Audience Score.

Example

A business podcast with 80,000 Spotify followers, 25,000 YouTube subscribers, an average of 15,000 views per video, a current position of 34 on Apple's Business chart, and 150 new reviews in the last month is rich with audience signals indicating a large, engaged community.
