The U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC) is a non-profit organization established in 1995 that represents the global trade interests of U.S. dairy producers, processors, cooperatives, and ingredient suppliers. Its mission is to enhance demand for U.S. dairy products and ingredients by securing market access and assisting members in meeting international market needs. USDEC provides various services to its members, including market development, advocacy for market access, trade policy leadership, and supplier support. The organization connects U.S. dairy suppliers with overseas buyers and helps navigate international regulations. With a membership of over 115 companies, representing about 80% of U.S. dairy processors, USDEC has a global presence with staff in regions such as Mexico, South America, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. The Council is primarily funded through the dairy promotion check-off program and receives support from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service.
