UHN Foundation is a charitable organization established on April 1, 2021, through the merger of the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation and the Toronto Rehab Foundation. It focuses on raising funds for research, education, and patient care at University Health Network (UHN) institutions in Toronto, Canada. The foundation supports four major UHN institutions: Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, and The Michener Institute of Education at UHN. The foundation's mission is to fund innovative research, attract global medical talent, and enhance patient care. In the fiscal year 2022-2023, UHN Foundation raised $238 million and granted $120 million to UHN. It has achieved significant milestones, including the opening of the Michael Lawrence Turk Rapid Assessment Centre, which enhances emergency care capacity. UHN Foundation also hosts events like "Diwali – A Night to Shine" and "Rally for Rehab" to support its initiatives and raise awareness about UHN's services. Led by CEO Tennys Hanson, the foundation emphasizes collaboration with donors and volunteers to improve healthcare outcomes.
