The Village Market ATL is a community-driven organization founded in 2016 by Dr. Lakeysha Hallmon, also known as Dr. Key. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, it focuses on empowering Black-owned businesses through various programs, resources, and connections. The organization operates across 38 U.S. states and 4 countries, including an official partnership with The Bahamas. Its core ethos, "Support is a Verb," emphasizes sustainability for socially conscious businesses. The Village Market ATL offers a range of services, including a free 12-week virtual incubator that provides technical assistance and mentorship, and the ASCEND 100 microbusiness development program, which supports 100 Black-owned businesses in enhancing productivity and profitability. Additionally, it hosts training workshops and marketplaces that feature art, live performances, and plant-based food, fostering a vibrant community of social entrepreneurs. The organization is committed to strengthening the sustainability of Black-owned businesses through education and support.
