The Saturday Scholar was founded in 2019 to prepare students in the greater Detroit area to raise their PSAT and SAT scores in order to qualify for entry into competitive high schools, colleges, and universities of their choice. -We serve students in grades 8-12 -We offer extensive academic programs in reading and math -We impart test taking strategies -We administer digital Princeton Review PSAT and SAT practice tests throughout the year -We provide college planning support Sessions are taught by highly qualified instructors with advanced college degrees and teaching experiences. Our programs are provided at no cost. We are financed by generous donors. As a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, donations are 100% tax deductible. We depend on donations to provide top-notch resources for our students. We appreciate your support! Under the leadership of Founder & CEO Ernestine L. Sanders and Program Director Rosalie T. Wattrick, who together bring over 25 years of experience as teachers, counselors, and school administrators, the organization is acutely aware of the lack of opportunities and inequities faced by many Detroit students. By enrolling in The Saturday Scholar, students are better equipped to overcome academic challenges, close learning gaps, and achieve their long-term educational goals.
