What does Rainey Center do?

The Joseph Rainey Center for Public Policy is a nonprofit think tank and public policy research organization based in Washington, D.C. Founded in 2018, it is named after Joseph Hayne Rainey, the first Black man to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives. The center focuses on promoting equality, freedom, and a more perfect union, aiming to empower the voices of women, minorities, and innovative thinkers in public policy. The Rainey Center addresses key policy areas such as energy, healthcare, inclusive governance, national security, innovation and technology, and elections and democracy. Its flagship program, the Leadership Alliance for a More Perfect Union (LAMP), fosters engagement and dialogue among state policymakers and diverse experts, including corporate leaders and academics. The organization is committed to cultivating new ideas and leadership to tackle America's pressing challenges through post-partisan dialogue and collaboration.
