Queens Gambit is a nonprofit chess education organization founded in 2014 by Ashley Lynn Priore. Based in Pittsburgh, it serves around 2,000 youth in grades 1–12 each year, focusing on making chess more inclusive and accessible for underserved communities. The organization believes that chess acts as a "portable classroom," fostering essential skills such as critical thinking, focus, and resilience. Queens Gambit offers high-quality chess enrichment programs in both after-school and in-school settings. It operates at over 10 partner sites, providing structured sessions two to three times a week. The organization partners with schools, libraries, and community organizations to reach students, particularly young women, girls, and students of color from low-income backgrounds. Through its programs, Queens Gambit aims to empower youth and develop their leadership skills in a supportive environment.
