The Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia (MIFA) is a not-for-profit organization that consists of seven state-based mental health service providers. With over 30 years of experience, MIFA supports around 20,000 individuals each year across various Australian states and territories. MIFA offers a wide range of services aimed at those affected by mental illness. This includes recovery-based support for individuals, education and advocacy for families and carers, early intervention services for at-risk children and young people, and specific information regarding psychosis and other mental health issues. MIFA is also registered with the NDIS, providing services such as Recovery Coaching and Support Coordination. The organization focuses on advocacy for policy changes, community education, and collaborative projects to enhance the quality of life for people with mental illness and their families. Services are available Monday to Friday, with no fees and self-referral access.
