LALO Tequila is a Mexican-owned tequila brand founded in 2017 by childhood friends Eduardo "Lalo" González and David R. Carballido, along with CEO Jim McDermott. The brand emerged from a small-batch project that began in 2015 in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Named after González's father, who founded the Don Julio brand, LALO represents the third generation of tequila-making expertise in the González family. LALO focuses on producing a single product: blanco tequila. The tequila is made using only three ingredients: highland blue agave, champagne yeast, and deep well water, with no additives. The production process involves slow-cooking the agave in stone ovens and distilling it in copper, resulting in a clean taste and distinct agave flavor. LALO has grown significantly, becoming available in all 50 U.S. states and earning recognition as one of the fastest-growing tequila brands. The founders emphasize authenticity and cultural engagement, supporting community initiatives and prioritizing traditional production methods.
