What does Green Our Planet do?

Green Our Planet is a nonprofit organization founded in 2013 by Ciara Byrne and Kim McQuarrie. The organization is dedicated to environmental conservation and education by empowering students, teachers, families, and communities to grow food through gardens and hydroponics. Its mission focuses on increasing joy and equity in communities by providing hands-on gardening experiences that foster connections to nature and personal transformation. The organization runs the largest school garden program in the U.S., reaching 500,000 students across 44 states and 5 countries. It offers various programs, including GRO@SCHOOL, which transforms classrooms into science labs; GRO@WORK, which builds hydroponic towers in workplaces; and GRO@HOME, which equips families with home hydroponics. Green Our Planet also partners with Fork Farms to enhance school hydroponics initiatives, providing comprehensive support that includes educational resources and community tools.
