The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham is a tax-exempt public charity established in 1959. It is the oldest and largest community foundation in Alabama, serving a five-county region that includes Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Blount, and Walker counties. The foundation manages over 450 grantmaking funds and held assets of $348 million, consistently ranking among the top 100 community foundations in the U.S. The foundation's mission is to ignite passion for transformational change in the community, with a vision of a just and prosperous region where everyone can reach their full potential.
