What does Children's International Film Festival do?

The New York International Children's Film Festival (NYICFF) is a non-profit arts organization established in 1997. It aims to promote engaging and thought-provoking cinematic works for children and teens aged 3-18. NYICFF showcases independent films alongside major releases, redefining kids' movies and encouraging young audiences to connect with diverse and historically excluded voices. As North America's largest festival for children and teens, NYICFF attracts over 20,000 attendees annually and holds Academy®-qualifying status, allowing jury prize winners to be considered for Oscars in the Live Action Short and Animated Short Film categories. The festival features a three-weekend event in March, offering a variety of animated, live-action, and experimental films, along with workshops and filmmaker Q&As. NYICFF also runs year-round programs, including a national touring festival, an online festival, and film production workshops for ages 6-16, supported by various arts organizations.
