The Animal Law & Policy Network (ALPN) is India's first think-tank focused on advancing farmed animal law and policy through interdisciplinary research. As a not-for-profit organization, ALPN conducts research on issues related to farmed animals, addressing critical national concerns such as public health, food safety, environmental protection, and climate resilience. ALPN offers legal and policy advisory services, assisting public institutions and policymakers in drafting laws and policies. The organization promotes stakeholder engagement and facilitates policy-oriented dialogues. Current research projects include analyzing anti-cruelty animal laws, exploring fish welfare in aquaculture, investigating non-animal methods in pharmaceuticals, and studying the effects of climate change on dairy farming. Based in Karnataka, India, ALPN also provides tax benefits for donations under section 80G of India's Income Tax Act, 1961.
