Allen Kelsey Grammer, born on February 21, 1955, is an American actor recognized for his portrayal of Dr. Frasier Crane on the NBC sitcoms Cheers and Frasier. His role in Frasier spanned over twenty years, making it one of the longest-running roles played by a single live-action actor in primetime television history. He has received numerous awards for his performances, including six Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, two Satellite Awards, two People's Choice Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Tony Award. Grammer trained as an actor at Juilliard and the Old Globe Theatre, making his professional debut in 1981 on Broadway in Macbeth. He also performed in Othello alongside Christopher Plummer and James Earl Jones and participated in the original off-Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim's Sunday in the Park with George. His stage career includes leading roles in productions such as Sweeney Todd, My Fair Lady, Big Fish, and Finding Neverland. In film, he is known for playing Dr. Hank McCoy / Beast in the X-Men series, including X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and The Marvels.
