Kelendria Trene Kelly Rowland born on February 11, 1981 is an American singer songwriter actress and television personality. She gained prominence in the late 1990s as a member of Destiny's Child, one of the world's best selling girl groups. During the group's three year hiatus she released her debut solo album Simply Deep in 2002 which reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and sold over five million copies globally. The album featured the Billboard Hot 100 number one single Dilemma with Nelly and UK hits Stole and Can't Nobody. Rowland also expanded into acting with leading roles in Freddy vs Jason in 2003 and The Seat Filler in 2005. After Destiny's Child disbanded in 2006 she released her second album Ms Kelly in 2007 with international hits Like This featuring Eve and Work. In 2009 she hosted the first season of The Fashion Show and collaborated on David Guetta's chart-topping When Love Takes Over which inspired her to explore electronic dance music on her third album Here I Am in 2011 with singles including Commander Down for Whatever and Motivation. Her fourth album Talk a Good Game released in 2013 became her third Top 10 album on the US Billboard 200. Rowland has also been active in television as a judge on The X Factor UK and The X Factor USA and as a host of Chasing Destiny and as a coach on The Voice Australia. She is credited with forming girl groups Little Mix and June's Diary. Throughout her career she has received numerous awards including four Grammys and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her contributions to music have been recognized by multiple organizations including the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers and Essence.
