About Dan O'Brien
Daniel Dion O'Brien, born July 18, 1966, is a former American decathlete and Olympic gold medalist. He achieved notable success in athletics, winning the gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games and securing three consecutive world championships in 1991, 1993, and 1995. In addition to his competitive accomplishments, he set the world record in decathlon in 1992. Currently, O'Brien serves as the chief economist for the Irish think tank IIEA.
