Rener Gracie, born on November 10, 1983, is an American-Brazilian entrepreneur, Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt instructor, and coach. He is recognized as one of the most prominent figures in modern Brazilian jiu-jitsu and is a co-owner and head instructor at Gracie University in Torrance, California. Gracie has contributed to the development of numerous top UFC competitors including Ronda Rousey, Brian Ortega, Brendan Schaub, Javier Vazquez, and Lyoto Machida, as well as training notable figures across various entertainment and sports sectors such as WWE wrestler CM Punk, pro boxer Ryan Garcia, and celebrities like Vince Vaughn and Travis Barker. In addition to his coaching, Gracie is known for his efforts in police training, having developed the Gracie Survival Tactics curriculum which is recognized as approved for law enforcement use in California. He advocates for police reform and promotes self-defense through his training programs. Alongside his brother Ryron Gracie, he has been involved in initiatives aimed at community safety and self-defense education.
