Mary Wilson: podcast appearances and interviews

Mary Wilson was an American singer, author, motivational speaker, and businesswoman. She was best known as a founding member of the Supremes, a highly successful Motown group of the 1960s. The group was the most successful Motown act of that era and one of the best-selling girl groups in history. The Supremes reached number one on Billboard's Hot 100 chart with twelve singles, ten of which featured Wilson on backing vocals. Wilson remained with the group even after some original members left; she continued until her own departure in 1977. In 1986, she achieved recognition as a New York Times best-selling author with her autobiography Dreamgirl: My Life as a Supreme, which broke sales records. She authored a second autobiography titled Supreme Faith: Someday We’ll Be Together. Beyond her music and writing careers, Wilson performed extensively as a concert performer in Las Vegas and was active in advocacy. She fought to pass Truth in Music Advertising bills and contributed to various charitable causes. Wilson was also a former United States Cultural Ambassador and served on the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority. Her contributions to music and culture were recognized in 1988 when she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with her group members.
