Kevin J. Anderson, born on March 27, 1962, is an American science fiction author known for his extensive body of work. He has written spin-off novels for franchises such as Star Wars, StarCraft, Titan A.E., and The X-Files. In collaboration with Brian Herbert, he is the co-author of the Dune prequel series. Anderson's original series include the Saga of Seven Suns and the Nebula Award–nominated Assemblers of Infinity. Additionally, he has authored several comic books, including the Dark Horse Star Wars series Tales of the Jedi with Tom Veitch, Dark Horse Predator titles, and The X-Files titles for Topps. His works also feature superhero novels such as Enemies & Allies, depicting the first meeting of Batman and Superman, and The Last Days of Krypton, which explores the origins of Superman's home planet. With over 140 published books, more than 50 of which have appeared on US and international bestseller lists, Anderson has more than 23 million copies in print worldwide. He is also a professor at Western Colorado University. Anderson has participated as a Literary Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker at the Life, the Universe, & Everything professional science fiction and fantasy arts symposium on multiple occasions. In 2021, he was inducted into the Colorado Authors Hall of Fame alongside notable authors like Stephen King and James Michener. He has received awards including the Scribe Award twice and was elected Grandmaster of the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers in 2012.
