Gerard Whateley: podcast appearances and interviews

Gerard Whateley, born on October 28, 1974, is a Melbourne-based sports broadcaster and writer. He is recognized as one of Australia's leading sports broadcasters. Whateley's career includes calling major Australian and international sporting events, such as 21 AFL Grand Finals, international cricket matches in Australia and abroad, and the Melbourne Cup. He has also covered swimming at the London and Rio Olympics and athletics at the Paris Summer Olympics. Since January 2018, Whateley has been the chief sports caller and host of the Whateley program on SEN1116. He is a co-host of Fox Footy's AFL 360 and occasionally writes sports columns for the Herald Sun newspaper. In 2012, he traveled to Royal Ascot to call Australia's racehorse Black Caviar winning the Diamond Jubilee Stakes and authored a book on the horse's career. Whateley made history as the first Australian to call a Super Bowl play-by-play, a broadcast he has delivered since Super Bowl LII in Minnesota.
