Utah Mammoth
About
Utah Mammoth is a professional ice hockey team based in Salt Lake City, Utah, competing in the National Hockey League (NHL) as part of the Central Division. The franchise was established on April 18, 2024, after acquiring the Arizona Coyotes' assets. Owned by the Smith Entertainment Group, the team initially operated as the Utah Hockey Club during its inaugural season at the Delta Center, where it achieved sell-out crowds for all home games. The team name, Utah Mammoth, was chosen through a fan vote and reflects the state's prehistoric mammoth fossils. The branding features a primary logo of a charging mammoth and a color scheme of black, white, and light blue. The Mammoth play their home games at the Delta Center and are developing a new training facility in Sandy, which will include NHL-standard ice surfaces and player amenities. The organization is committed to growing the sport of hockey in the community through initiatives like Hockey 101 and plans to invest in new rinks across Utah.
