What does USA Gymnastics do?

USA Gymnastics (USAG) is the national governing body for gymnastics in the United States. Established in 1978, it is recognized by the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the International Gymnastics Federation. USAG oversees the sport from grassroots to elite levels, including the management of U.S. teams for the Olympics and World Championships. The organization governs six gymnastics disciplines: artistic, acrobatic, gymnastics for all, parkour, rhythmic, and trampoline and tumbling. USAG conducts national events such as the U.S. Classic and the Men's and Women's National Championships, as well as international competitions like the American Cup. With a rich history, USAG has celebrated significant achievements, including the U.S. Men's Team Olympic gold in 1984 and the "Magnificent Seven" Women's Team gold in 1996. The organization is headquartered in Indianapolis.
