What does Smart Freight Centre do?

Smart Freight Centre (SFC) is a global non-profit organization based in the Netherlands, established in 2013. Its mission is to decarbonize the freight and logistics sector by fostering collaboration among shippers, logistic service providers, and carriers. SFC aims for a zero-emission logistics industry by 2050, aligning with the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals. SFC offers various services focused on emissions measurement, reporting, and decarbonization strategies. These include training programs for creating sustainable logistics roadmaps, accredited tools for accurate greenhouse gas calculation, and initiatives like the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) and the Smart Freight Shippers Alliance. The organization also conducts research and advocacy to promote decarbonization strategies, aiming to reduce one billion tonnes of CO2e by 2030. With a network of over 150 members and partners, SFC supports the logistics community in achieving sustainability goals.
