MRF has invested over $12 million in research, resulting in 45 peer-reviewed papers and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance understanding and treatment of this condition. MRF operates a competitive annual grants program open to global nonprofit and academic researchers. The program supports various projects aimed at understanding misophonia, characterizing its symptoms, and assessing potential interventions. Key grant types include Research Impact Awards, which can provide up to $500,000, and other awards for specific research initiatives. Since its inception, MRF has awarded 26 grants, contributing to significant advancements in the fields of neuroscience, psychology, genetics, and audiology.
