IRDG (Industry Research & Development Group), known as "Driving Irish Innovation," is a not-for-profit, independent network established in 1992. It focuses on supporting industry research, development, and innovation (RD&I) in Ireland. Representing over 300 member companies, including startups, SMEs, and large multinationals, IRDG spans 24 sectors such as software, medtech, pharmaceuticals, and engineering. The organization aims to enhance members' innovation investments through five core pillars: Representation, Funding & Support, Innovation Networking, Collaboration, and Learning. IRDG advocates for member interests at government levels, provides guidance on RD&I funding, and facilitates networking opportunities. It also offers training programs on various topics, including Design Thinking and AI, to foster a culture of innovation. Notable initiatives include the IRDG Innovation Skillnet program, which supports SMEs with tailored workshops and execution plans. Through its activities, IRDG contributes to national innovation agendas and promotes collaboration within the innovation ecosystem.
