Blue Ridge Area Food Bank (BRAFB) is a nonprofit organization based in Verona, Virginia, dedicated to alleviating hunger in central and western Virginia. Founded in 1981, it serves 25 counties and 8 cities, distributing food through four main centers in Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Winchester, and Verona. BRAFB partners with over 208 community agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, and schools, to reach approximately 119,000 individuals each month. The organization distributes more than 24.8 million pounds of food annually, equivalent to 20.6 million meals. Its programs include the Family BackPack Program, Kids Cafe™, and Mobile Food Pantry, which provide essential food and nutrition education to vulnerable groups. BRAFB relies on volunteers and donations to maximize its impact, ensuring that every dollar donated provides four meals.
