Videoart at Midnight is a non-profit artists' cinema project based in Berlin, founded in 2008 by Olaf Stüber and Ivo Wessel. It serves as an international platform for contemporary video art, film, and new media through monthly midnight screenings at Kino Babylon in the Mitte district. The initiative began as a series of screenings for Berlin-based artists, allowing them to present their work in person on a large cinema screen. The project features monthly events dedicated to individual artists, fostering discussions around video and moving image works. Videoart at Midnight Productions supports projects at the intersection of cinema and exhibitions, managing financing and distribution for artist films. Additionally, since 2012, it has published an anthology series of contemporary time-based media art. The initiative also includes international offshoots, such as Videoart at Midnight BCN in Barcelona, which aims to connect Berlin's art scene with Mediterranean audiences through free screenings.
